Catherine Sheridan is an advocate for charities and nonprofits that support Alzheimer’s research. Still without a cure, an estimated 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. The nature of the disease and its progression plagues both patients and their loved ones. Sheridan is passionate about supporting charities and nonprofits that aid in Alzheimer’s research because she hopes that someday, a cure can be developed. In the future, Catherine Sheridan Race Rock professional hopes to combine her passions of music and Alzheimer’s awareness. She is particularly inspired by the nonprofit, Music Is Our Weapon. The organization works with many groups of people, from young children to the elderly. Sheridan firmly believes that the musical process helps individuals both emotionally and mentally. Sharing this mindset, Music Is Our Weapon has worked with Alzheimer’s patients to inspire cognitive development through music. Sheridan hopes to spread awareness about this connection through her tutoring and support of Alzheimer’s charities and nonprofits.
