Christopher Mallavarapu, MD, FACC, SCAI is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). He is also certified by the Council of Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Mallavarapu completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He further advanced his training through fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Clinical Cardiology, Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology.
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Mallavarapu specializes in cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, stress testing, electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG), echocardiography and advanced diagnostic imaging. He performs percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and other minimally invasive heart procedures to treat coronary artery disease and restore blood flow during cardiac emergencies. His clinical expertise includes heart failure management, arrhythmia treatment, chest pain evaluation and heart attack recovery care.
