Fr. Philip Johnson is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Johnson maintains his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in History, with an additional academic concentration on French. During his studies at the United States Naval Academy, the History and French major participated in a study abroad program in Paris, France. This experience paved the way for Johnson’s professional career and overall interest in Foreign Language Studies and French Translation.

United States Navy
In his commitment to the United States Navy, Fr. Philip Johnson maintained various roles throughout his Naval career. Following his graduation from the United States Naval Academy, Johnson stood as a Gunnery Officer for two years. This experience earned Johnson various Naval Achievements, including: Surface Warfare Officer Qualification and Officer of the Deck (Navigator) Qualification, as well as managed a division of over twenty men and women during a Persian Gulf Deployment. Johnson received a variety of Personal Awards and Naval Achievements; including but not limited to: Surface Warfare Officer Pin, National Defense Medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Deployment Medal.
Additionally, Fr. Philip Johnson was promoted from Gunnery Officer to Fire Control Officer. In this role, Johnson managed a division of over thirty personnel during a Persian Gulf Deployment.
Hofstra University
Fr. Philip Johnson is a current Research Assistant and Academic Researcher at Hofstra University. In his role as a Foreign Language Studies Translator, Johnson conducts history research and provides French translation. The Research Assistant and Academic Researcher provides translation services in French, Spanish, German and Latin to English for academic research.
