A terminal cancer diagnosis is often life-changing. For cancer survivor, Jeff Ber, the journey gave him his life’s passion, rather than taking it away. In an incredible feat that defied all odds, Ber survived and overcame his terminal diagnosis of testicular cancer. But his story isn’t stopping there.
Now, as Vice President of Operations at Oneball, Entrepreneur Jeff Ber is focused on supporting other men with testicular cancer.
Oneball Charitable Cancer Organization
Oneball is a unique nonprofit organization that aims to empower and support men with testicular cancer. In every way, Oneball aims to be different from conventional cancer awareness initiatives. Intertwining comedic slogans with a sense of camaraderie, the organization takes on a friendly tone. In the team’s view, men with testicular cancer are already facing a serious side of life. That’s why the Oneball team fuses humor into their initiative, to lift spirits while saving lives.
As a survivor of testicular cancer, Jeff Ber is proud to represent Oneball’s executive team as Vice President of Operations. Through this role, Jeff is largely responsible for developing the organization’s strategic vision. His efforts echo Oneball’s overall mission, which is to destroy the stigma imposed on openly discussing men’s health. Ber is a major supporter of Oneball’s humor-infused campaigns. As someone who has been through the roughest parts of his own journey with testicular cancer, he understands the value in the approach’s encouragement.
Backed by a Bachelor of Commerce from John Molson School of Business, Jeff Ber is well-equipped with the leadership skills and business know-how Oneball needs. His own personal tie to the organization’s mission further fuels his passion for his role as VP. Jeff’s passion for his work is appreciated by his team members, who have nicknamed him the ‘backbone of Oneball.’
Volunteer Work
Jeff looks forward to supporting other nonprofit organizations on both small and large scales. On his blog dedicated to volunteer work, Ber encourages others to participate in efforts that support nonprofits and charitable organizations. Acting as a field guide for volunteerism, Jeff Ber’s blog covers everything from microvolunteering to how to encourage youth to pursue volunteer work. He hopes that by documenting his own experiences he can provide his readers with meaningful direction.
