Obstacle Course Race Enthusiast
When it comes to taking on a challenge, Mortimer Curran is more than prepared! It’s all thanks to his consistent training for the latest and most challenging obstacle course races. Over the years, Mortimer Curran has competed in some of the most popular obstacle course races around. His favorites include Spartan Race, BoneFrog, and Tough Mudder. Outside of his challenging marathon adventures, Mortimer also enjoys traveling. Of course, never taking a day off, his travels often take his training into account!
Spartan Race
So far, Mortimer Curran has participated in and completed Spartan Race events at three different locations, including Spartan Race Austin, Spartan Race Tuxedo, NY, and Spartan Carolina Beast. Mortimer looks forward to giving other Spartan Race events a go as well!
Spartan Race is all about pushing yourself. That’s why Mortimer Curran decided the events were the perfect fit for him! The Spartan Race team urges participants to “find their race” by offering a diverse range of obstacle course race challenges. Options include:
- The Stadion
5K with 20 obstacles
- The Sprint
5K with 20 obstacles
- The Super
10K with 25 obstacles
- The Beast
Half Marathon with 30 obstacles
- The Ultra
50K with 60 obstacles
An interesting challenge that Mortimer Curran is currently aiming for is to earn his trifecta. Spartan Race outlines this honorary title as proof that a runner has completed the Spartan Sprint, Super and Beast in one calendar year. After completing this challenge, participants join the ranks of the Spartan Elite. Mortimer eagerly awaits his opportunity to claim this title!
International Obstacle Course Races
An avid world traveler, Mortimer Curran is now setting his sights on obstacle course races outside of the continental United States. Continuing with his Spartan pride, Mortimer looks forward to participating in Spartan Race events hosted in France. He is also interested in The Mud Day. Mortimer also hopes to encourage his female family members to participate in the women-only obstacle course race and mud run event, Muddy Angel. Muddy Angel is a French-founded obstacle course race with events hosted all throughout Europe.
Red Sneakers for Oakley (RSFO)
As of 2020, Mortimer Curran is a proud Board Member of Red Sneakers for Oakley (RSFO). The nonprofit is fully dedicated to advocating for food allergy awareness through educational efforts and events. Mortimer looks forward to making an active difference that could potentially lead to decreasing the amount of lives lost due to a lack of understanding of the issue. A health and fitness fanatic, this partnership is a natural fit for the obstacle course race enthusiast.
