Nyssa Duarte is a proud graduate of Bunker Hill College (BHCC). In 2020, Duarte completed her Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts Studies and Humanities at the College. This experience established the foundation of her interests, both academically and professionally. It wasn’t long before Duarte realized her true calling: nursing. In 2022, she became recognized as a Registered Nurse at the Registered Nurse Pinning Ceremony at Bunker Hill College (BHCC Class of ‘22). As she finds her footing in the world of nursing, Duarte is eager to learn anything and everything she can about the field. She aspires to one day take on an area of specialization. Both personally and professionally, the RN is particularly passionate about herbalism, health and wellness. Duarte hopes to someday fuse this focus into her career by contributing to scientific research publications regarding the efficacy of herbal medicine.
Like so many other people, Nyssa Duarte is a huge music fan. It’s something she turns to as a source of inspiration, as well as a way to calm down and improve her mood when necessary. Duarte also believes that music can actually benefit people in terms of wellness. When it comes to emotional wellbeing, music can be a great source of composure, calamity and mental alertness. While studying for her Registered Nursing Certification, Duarte found herself guided by her playlist. When she felt particularly stressed or worried, she would unwind with calming tracks. When she wanted to heighten her focus, she added more upbeat tracks to her playlist. Overall, music has played a pivotal role in her own wellness journey and the RN looks forward to sharing how other people can benefit from this practice as well.
