Silwan Chedid is a well respected and renowned Oncology and Hematology expert residing in Texas.

At present, Dr. Chedid holds multiple Board Certifications, degrees, and has found success as an author. Born and raised in Australia, he found a home in Texas after moving to the United States in 1979. Once in Texas, Silwan focused on earning a number of degrees from highly thought of Universities.

Education

Silwan Chedid knew in order to become the Doctor he strived to be, he needed to work hard to earn the right degrees and knowledge to prepare him for his future.  He completed most of his education in Texas as discussed below:

• Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in Denton, Texas: Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts
• University of Texas, Austin: Bachelor of Science in Biology
• University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas: Master’s Degree in Medicine
• University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ: Internal Medicine Residency
• M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX: Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology

Not only did Chedid leave school with a number of degrees, but one should note the quality of those degrees.  For example, the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is one of the most respected and well-known cancer centers, focusing exclusively to cancer care, research, prevention, and education.  As to be expected with a strong educational background, Silwan Chedid was well prepared to begin his own professional career after finishing his schooling.

Professional Career

Today, Silwan Chedid operates his own clinical practice, with two locations; one in Austin, Texas and one in Temple, Texas. When he isn’t working with patients at his practice, he is working on building a healthier community.  In 2010 Chedid joined the Texas Veterans Healthcare System where he is currently the primary investigator of three clinical cases in the Oncology Section. In addition to working in the community,  and an extensive medical career, Silwan Chedid is also an accomplished author; having published several medical articles in peer reviewed medical journals.
