If you ask Tom Whittemore what the perfect day would be for, he’d say “going to the beach!” Truly his happy place, there’s nowhere else Whittemore would rather be! Growing up on the East Coast, he has spent every summer of his life living it up at the beach. Over the years, he has become an expert in his own right when it comes to water sports. He has tried them all: sailing, surfing, water polo and jet skiing. By far, his absolute favorite water sports are windsurfing, sailing and traditional surfing. In the summer, Whittemore works as a Sailing and Surfing Instructor, providing newcomers with basic instruction on how to embrace the wonderful outdoor sports. More than just a professional or personal passion, Whittemore truly considers surfing and sailing to be major aspects of his life and identity.
Every year, Tom Whittemore makes it a point to take a vacation to visit a new beach. Ocean travel is particularly important to the water sports enthusiast because it is on his bucket list to surf and sail in all oceans. So far, he is well-versed in navigating much of the Atlantic and he recently visited the Pacific. He looks forward to sailing and surfing all five oceans in the future. Along the way, Whittemore is sure to bring along his camera to snap underwater photography of marine wildlife. He has already started working on a project highlighting the majestic marine wildlife along the East Coast and plans to develop a similar project with a focus on the West Coast.
