Jason Shattuck currently works as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the mental health field. Previously, he has worked as a Mental Health Counselor and Psychiatric Technician. A caring and compassionate individual, helping others is always at the forefront of his focus. Shattuck is proud to be able to accomplish his goal of caring for others through his profession as an LPN. A lifelong psychology fanatic, he enjoys combining his interests with his passions while working in the mental health field.
Education
Diversely experienced and educated, Jason Shattuck’s academic background is particularly unique. In 1993, he completed an Associate’s degree in Arts and Science at a local Community College. Interested in helping others, Shattuck then pursued a Basic EMT Course at Springfield College. This experience solidified his interest in the medical field. In turn, Shattuck then decided to return to college once again — this time, his focus was set on a career in Nursing.
Jason Shattuck always found himself fascinated by psychology. After completing a Basic EMT Course and passing state boards, he decided to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Westfield State College. During this academic pursuit, Shattuck refined his grasp on the science of the human mind and behavior. All the while, his fascination with psychology continued to grow.
Career Inspirations
From the moment his Psychology professor introduced him to Dr. Sigmund Freud, Jason Shattuck was intensely fascinated by Freudian psychology. Even still today, Shattuck credits this introduction with solidifying his career focus in the area of mental health.
By now, Jason Shattuck has read virtually all of Dr. Sigmund Freud’s published works. It comes as no surprise that he largely favors the concepts and ideas presented by the founder of psychoanalysis. Today, Shattuck dives into deep discussion on Freudian psychology with other fans via his Facebook group, “Inside Freud’s Consulting Room.”
