Health Charities
Sean O’Grady, MD is an advocate for the life-changing efforts of AfS. Alliance for Smiles (AfS) is a volunteer-based organization that provides cleft lip and palate treatment (including corrective surgery). The reach of AfS is international, but the organization is primarily active in countries within the continents of Asia and Africa. In 2004, Alliance for Smiles was founded by members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco who wanted to fulfill a need for cleft lip and palate treatment centers in underdeveloped areas. The initial goal was to establish treatment centers where the American medicine approach to cleft treatment could be replicated for those in need. O’Grady is inspired by the incredible efforts of AfS. A true believer in the initiative’s life-changing work, O’Grady is an advocate for the mission and message of Alliance for Smiles.
Fitness Charities
America’s children are America’s future. That’s why Project Fit America (PFA) is dedicated to creating new opportunities for school children to be active, healthy and fit! Sean O’Grady, MD is a major supporter of the action based charity because its facilitators are truly fueled by results. For thirty years, Project Fit America has empowered elementary and middle school students through their health and fitness programs in schools across America. When PFA implements a fitness program in a school, the participating students often develop a newfound love for their Physical Education/Gym classes. O’Grady is particularly proud of PFA’s overall mission, which dives deeper than the physical surface. Ultimately, Project Fit America aims to help children develop their self-esteem, leadership skills and character development.
